New Delhi: Kevin Costner, the 68-year-old Oscar winner, is allegedly seeking revenge against his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, following their divorce, according to a close friend of Baumgartner who spoke to the Daily Mail.
The source claims that Costner is determined to make Baumgartner’s life miserable and humiliate her for proceeding with the divorce, dismissing claims that the dispute revolves around their house.
“I’m going to make Christine’s life a living hell. This is not about the house; it’s about going through with the divorce, the source, supposedly a close pal of Christine Baumgartner, claimed to the Daily Mail.
Before their separation, Costner and Baumgartner had three children together: Cayden, Hayes, and daughter Grace. Costner had previous relationships with supermodels Bridget Rooney and Elle MacPherson and a brief romance with political activist Birgit Cunningham. He was previously married to Cindy Silva before marrying Baumgartner.
In response to the escalating tensions, Baumgartner expressed her concern that Costner might resort to involving the police to remove her from the property forcibly. Despite the strain between them, she emphasized her desire to maintain a peaceful environment for the sake of their children.
The 2004 prenuptial agreement between the former couple stipulated that in the event of a separation, Baumgartner would have 30 days to vacate the estate. Costner agreed to provide her a monthly rental allowance of $30,000 and an additional $10,000 for moving expenses, but Baumgartner claimed it fell short of her needs.
The judge presiding over the case recently ruled that Baumgartner must vacate the estate by the end of the month. Costner and Baumgartner have requested joint custody of their children, and disputes over child support payments have also arisen. The court has determined that Costner will pay $129,755 per month as child support, while healthcare expenses will be divided equally between the former couple.
