Thangalaan OTT Release: The Tamil blockbuster will arrive on Netflix’s OTT Platforms on 20th September. The film was announced in December 2021 and the official title was announced in October 2022. The film was released in theaters on 15th August 2024 and did very well at the box office.

Plot
The film’s story revolves around a man named Thangalaan who is the head of the village and the land owner and is living a happy life with his wife and family.
He used to narrate bedtime stories to his kids and one night he narrated the chilling story of a woman who stays in deep forests and is also a protector of their land.
Thangalaan’s grandfather used to work with a tribe that used to extract gold from the Ponnar River. One day a king saw his father extracting gold from the river.
However, the woman Aarthi saves the area and doesn’t let anyone mess up with the territory. His grandfather was approached by the king, initially, he refused but later agreed when he was promised the land should be allotted to him which his forefathers lost.
Things take a dramatic turn when Aathi indulges in a fierce fight with his grandfather in which Aarthi is killed by him.
Thangalaan then notices his children are already asleep. However one day the zamindar’s men tried to seize the land of Thangalaan as he was unable to pay the taxes.
The later part of the film is about how Thangalaan protects the villagers from the wrath of Aarthi who will not spare anyone who tries to take away the gold.
Star Cast and Production
The film is directed by Pa Ranjith and the star cast features Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan and Pasupathy in pivotal roles.
