New Delhi: The first song from Ajay Devgn’s ‘Thank God’ is out now. The song is titled ‘Manike’ and is the remix version of the viral Sri Lankan Sinhala song ‘Manike Mage Hithe’. In the song, actor Sidharth Malhotra and Nora Fatehi can be seen dancing and enjoying the number.
Yohani returns to sing the remix composed by Tanishk Bagchi while the original composition is credited to Chamath Sangeeth. Jubin Nautiyal and Surya Ragunnathan sang the song along with Yohani. The lyrics are written by Rashmi Virag and Dulan ARX (Dulanja Alwis) while the rap is penned by Mellow D.
In the music video, created under the banner of T-Series, Ajay Devgn’s Chitragupta tests Sidharth’s character’s restraint in front of Nora Fatehi. He says, “Lust ek aisi weakness hai jo har mard mein hoti hai. Aur isse tumhe control karna hai (Lust is such a weakness that every man has, and you have to learn to control it).” While the progressive gender norms are being overlooked, Nora and Sidharth show their moves in the video.
The original song was made by Satheeshan Rathnayaka and it went viral when Yohani sang a cover version of it. The song was trending on social media platforms and people posted lip-sync and dance videos too.
The film is helmed by Indra Kumar, who is known for his comedy franchise like ‘Dhamaal’ and ‘Masti’. The film also stars Rakul Preet Singh and this will mark her third collaboration with Ajay Devgn after ‘De De Pyaar De’ and ‘Runway 34’. The film is expected to be a comedy packed with mythology, revolving around the themes of jealousy and lust. The film will release on October 25 and is set to clash with Akshay Kumar’s ‘Ram Setu’, which will release on October 24.
