New Delhi: Netflix is getting ready to give its fans something fresh and exciting after releasing a slew of romantic Korean dramas. A mystery thriller series centred around a setting where eight individuals’ lives are abruptly turned upside down after attending a game show will be available on the streaming giant’s platform.
The 8 Show, a forthcoming Korean drama is based on the webtoons Money Game and Pie Game by Bae Jin Soo.
The 8 Show is an upcoming suspense drama that will be intriguing to fans of the Korean series Squid Game.
Storyline
Eight individuals in dire financial straits are asked to participate in the reality variety program Money Game. The bare-bones studio with concrete walls is where the eight individuals are supposed to spend the night. The grand reward of 44.8 billion won may be split evenly if they can survive for 100 days. Their winnings are reduced by the cost of all expenses, which includes 1,000 times the average price of food, water, and electricity.
The teaser opens with a darkened hall, a young guy striding towards the stage while a spotlight trails behind him. When he gets to the stage, he sees a red envelope on a table. Thereafter, he goes backstage and discovers an oddly vacant room. The remaining members are presented one by one and they, too, open their envelopes.
Release Date and Platform
The suspenseful Korean mystery thriller drama will be available on Netflix on May 17, 2024. The eight episodes of the drama appear to have been released all together on May 17th.

Cast and Crew
The eight main characters of the drama, played by Ryu Jun Yeol as Jin Soo, Chun Woo Hee as Se Ra, Park Jeong Min as Philip, Lee Joo Young as Chun Ja, Moon Jung Hee as Moon Jung, Bae Sung Woo as Sang Gook, and Lee Yeol Eum, and Park Hae Joon, are the 8 players of the money game.
The series is produced by Kim Dae Seung and involves cinematography by Nam Dong Geun. The storyline and direction of the series are done by Han Jae Rim, based on the webtoons by Bae Jin Soo.
