The Aam Aadmi Family Season 4 Review: Brijendra Kala & Lubna Salim’s family drama hits all the right notes once again

Delhi’s Sharma family’s bond of unity gets tested once again by the new hardships they face in their lives

New Delhi: Brijendra Kala’s latest comedy-drama series The Aam Aadmi Family season 4 finally arrived on Zee5 today (24th November)

In the fourth installment of Zee’s super hit series, Delhi’s Sharma family’s bond of unity gets tested once again by the new hardships they face in their lives as the story takes a deep dive into gloomy themes of mortality, retirement, and new beginnings.

The Aam Aadmi Family Season 4: Narrative

The narrative of the series once again revolves around the Sharma family which is mourning the sudden demise of the grandmother. (Sattu’s) mother. While Patriarch Sattu (Brijendra Kala) is still recovering from his mother’s loss, his spouse Madhu (Lubna Salim) tries her best to stand with her husband in these tough times.

Both the family’s children, Sonu (Saadhika Sayal) and Bobby (Chandan Anand), who were portrayed as immature teens in the past seasons, are now also grown up and are trying to focus on building their careers and maintaining a healthy social life.

Interestingly, almost all the episodes of the series, each about 30 min long, take place inside the Sharma family’s household, giving sitcom-like vibes to the viewers.

Helmed under the guidance of ace director Himani Shah, The Aam Aadmi Family season 4 has been scripted jointly by Swarandeep Biswas and Saket Sharma.

While the show’s story and screenplay may remind one of TVF’s similar popular like Gullak (2019) and Panchayat (2020), it refrains from getting into the depth of sadness and misery which helps regular middle-class Indian families establish a connection with the show’s characters.

The series also makes an attempt to address several relatable middle-class family-related issues like financial crisis, old age health, and internal disputes.

The Aam Aadmi Family Season 4: Performances

Just like the show’s previous installment (Season 3), ace actors Brijensra Kala and Lubna Salim have impressed once again with their roles as the main actors of the family drama.

The duo’s near-perfect portrayal of the family’s dramatic and unguarded sides as they struggle to enter into a new phase of their married life on their 30th anniversary is undoubtedly one of the biggest reasons to binge-watch the show.

Moreover, Besides Lubna and Brijendra, the rest cast of the film including Bindra and Chobessey also does justice to the side roles they are seen portraying throughout the series.
