The Holdovers OTT Release Date: The Holdover, which has been a huge hit at the box office, is now prepared to make its Indian streaming debut. On June 16, 2024, Jio Cinema will launch The Holdover as an over-the-top release.

New Delhi: Written by David Hemingson and directed by Alexander Payne, The Holdovers is a 2023 American Christmas comedy-drama.

On August 31, 2023, The Holdovers had its world debut at the 50th Telluride Film Festival. On October 27, 2023, Focus Features distributed the film in the US. With nearly $44 million in box office collections, it was well-received. It was recognized as one of the best ten films of 2023 by both the American Film Institute and the National Board of Review. Two Golden Globes and a British Academy Film Award were among the numerous other honours it garnered. The Holdovers were nominated for five Oscars at the 96th ceremony.

The Holdovers, which has been renting on Prime Video for a while, is now receiving its official OTT debut in India. The film will be released on June 16 by Jio Cinema.

Plot

A grumpy history teacher at a prep school spends the holidays stuck on campus with a mourning chef and a homeless troublesome student. Holdover is a phrase for students whose parents unexpectedly cancel them or who do not have somewhere else to go.

Taking place in the late 1970s and early 1971, The Holdovers follows Paul Giamatti, a sourpuss history teacher at a prestigious New England boarding school. Paul feels obligated to stay at school over Christmas break to watch after the few holdover students who are unable to go home.
