New Delhi: Michael Showalter’s upcoming American rom-com The Idea Of You is one of the most awaited films of the year. Inspired by Robinne Lee’s famous novel of the same name, the movie tells the fantasy-like tale of a common girl who loses her heart to a much younger renowned handsome singer of a popular boy band.
The Idea Of You OTT Release Date & Platform
As per the latest announcements made by the makers, The Idea Of You will first premiere exclusively at the South by Southwest Film, music, and Interactive Media (SXSW) Festival, Texas on 16th March 2024. Following that, it will start streaming on digital giant Amazon Prime Video from May 2nd of the same year.
This means that the fans, who have been waiting for the movie’s arrival on digital screens with bated breath, will finally be able to watch & enjoy it from the comfort of their homes. However, it is worth mentioning here that only the subscribers of Amazon Prime will get to watch The Idea Of You on the OTT platform.

While the official trailer of The Idea Of You is still awaited, Amazon Prime recently offered numerous brief looks from the movie in its intriguing What’s Coming To Prime Video In 2024 YouTube video.
The plot of The Idea of You allegedly circles the life story of a middle-aged divorced lady Soléne Marchand (Anne Hathaway) who goes to the Coachella fest with her 16-year-old daughter Izzy. At Coachella, Soléne crossed paths with a 24-year-old handsome guy Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine ), who is one of the lead singers of August Moon, a much-celebrated boy band. How the two click with each other & embark on a passionate journey full of Love & Romance forms the crux of the film.

In its star-studded cast, the Michael Showalter directorial sees Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine in the leading pair while featuring Ella Rubin, Reid Scott, and Jordan Aaron in supporting roles. The film is set to release under the banners of Belle Hope Productions, Somewhere Pictures, and Welle Entertainment on 2nd May 2024.
