The Kerala Story Box Office Collection Day 9: Adah Sharma’s film crosses ₹100 crore mark, becomes 4th highest in 2023

New Delhi: In only nine days since its premiere, The Kerala Story has handily surpassed the 100 crore mark. Due to its depiction of Keralan women who were purportedly forced to convert to Islam and join ISIS, the movie has generated considerable discussion across the nation. Even though some lawmakers have called for the movie to be banned, it has continued to see growth at the box office and generated an incredible 19.50 crore on its second Saturday. This brings the whole revenue to about 113 crores. On Sunday, it’s anticipated to post a comparable or higher result.

On Sunday, film industry expert Taran Adarsh tweeted about the movie’s box office results. “#TheKeralaStory is a ONE-HORSE RACE,” he wrote. “Possesses a SUPER-SOLID second Sat, swaggering through 100 cr… The BIG JUMP was inevitable given the current tendencies. Business in [second] Sunday should once more be HUGE… [Week 2] Friday, $12.35, and Saturday, $19.50. 112.99 crores in total”.

The movie is the fourth Hindi movie to reach the 100 crore club, he continued. “#TheKeralaStory is the fourth #Hindi film to cross 100 cr [NBOC] in 2023,”. “Pathaan (January) March: #TuJhoothiMainMakkaar April: #KisiKaBhaiKisiKiJaan The Kerala Story (May)”, he tweeted.

The Kerala Story opened at more than 200 theatres in the US and Canada on Friday, one week after it premiered in India. Director Sudipto Sen stated during his speech that the film is a mission that goes beyond the creative bounds of filmmaking. “The nation was denying the persistent problem in the state of Kerala. The Kerala Story is a project that should reach the public all over the world and promote awareness; it is a purpose that goes beyond the creative limitations of cinema”, he said.
