‘The Railway Men’ release date OUT: R Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon unveils motion poster; series to release on this date

The developers of the upcoming thriller series have given fans a treat by announcing the series premiere date and revealing the characters’ initial looks.

New Delhi: The Railway Men is Yash Raj Films’ first foray into the world of web series. On Thursday, October 26th, the production company announced that R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyenndu Sharma, and Babil Khan, son of the late actor Irrfan Khan, will star in their debut web series.

YRF Entertainment is responsible for producing the streaming content and will roll out five projects in the first year. Production on The Railway Men began on December 1, and the finished product will debut on an OTT service very soon.

Its launch on the OTT platform is set for November 18th, and Netflix India has announced the date.

While making the announcement, Netflix India released a brief motion poster on Instagram offering a tight introduction to the characters of the Railway Men and wrote in the caption, “The story of humanity’s fight during a tragedy.

About the Series

The narrative of the riveting thriller series that will premiere on Netflix on November 18 is based on actual events, which is a detail that is sure to pique viewers’ interest.

Shiv Rawail, a debutant at YRF, helms all four episodes of the miniseries. A narrative of bravery and a tribute to humanity, The Railway Men is set against the background of the Bhopal Gas Leak, the world’s greatest industrial tragedy, and is inspired by genuine events.

It tells the moving story of India’s railway workers, who went above and beyond in their efforts to rescue hundreds of innocent people stranded in a hopeless city.

On the evening of December 2, 1984, methyl isocyanate gas spilled from an American Union Carbide Corporation pesticide manufacturing. The official death toll was over 5,000, while unofficial estimates put the number of poisoned at over half a million.

Cancer, blindness, and respiratory, immunological, and neurological issues are just some of the chronic health issues that thousands of survivors say they and their children and grandkids are facing as a direct consequence of the leak.

The Railway Men is a stirring story of bravery and will give audiences an inspiring look at the life of India’s unsung heroes, the railway workers, who rescued countless people from a burning city.

The series, written by Aayush Gupta, is produced by YRF Entertainment, and directed by the new director Shiv Rawail.
