Plot

The story of the American War Drama revolves around the lives of a group of over 855 women who decide to join the war to address a 3 year mail backlog. However these women face a lot challenges and hurdles.

The film’s name ‘ The Six Triple Eight’ means U.S. Army’s 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. It is also the group of black servicewomen who serve overseas during the world war II.

The film portrays the self-determination and hard work of these women, how they battle every challenge to ensure that the mail reaches the American troops. During the world war II..

All the civilians were worries about thier loved ones and they penned down their concerns, fear and anxiety in the form of letters and photographers. These mails faced a lot of delays due to the lack of a proper mail-system.

Noone cared about the stack of millions of mails who were waiting to reach to their concerned ones. Finally the War Department appoints these group of women known as ‘The Six Triple Eight’.

These women were also trained like the Army Soldiers and they were ready to face any challenge and war when it comes to their nation. They were assigned the task of maintaining 7 million information cards.

Despite doing their best, these women faced a lot of criticism from their seniors. They started working in shifts to make sure their task is completed on time.

The film is written and directed by Tyler Perry and it stars Kerry Washington, Ebony Obsidian, Dean Norris among others.
