Thiru.Manickam OTT Release: Thiru.Manickam is a 2024 drama film written and directed by Nandha Periyasamy. The film features Samuthirakani in the titular role, alongside Ananya and veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja in pivotal roles.
The supporting cast includes Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah, Karunakaran, and Ilavarasu. The film was released theatrically on December 27, 2024. Following its theatrical run, “Thiru.Manickam” is set to make its digital premiere on ZEE5 on January 24, 2025.
The movie will also be available in Kannada and Malayalam, with English subtitles.
Plot
Manickam is introduced as an ordinary man with extraordinary compassion. Living in a small, closely-knit village, he is deeply respected for his selfless acts. He is the kind of person who places others’ needs above his own. Often, Manickam goes out of his way to lend a helping hand.
However, his life is far from simple, as his actions often put him in conflict with people who exploit others or have selfish motives.
Manickam’s journey takes a sharp turn when his altruistic actions begin to draw the ire of powerful individuals in the village. Corrupt politicians, influential businessmen, and even some members of his community view him as a threat.
They perceive his integrity as an obstacle to their selfish agendas.
One of the central conflicts arises when Manickam intervenes in a local issue involving land grabbing. His decision to stand by the marginalized and defend their rights pits him against a ruthless land developer who will stop at nothing to maintain control.
This confrontation escalates into a series of events that test Manickam’s resolve and endanger his life.
As challenges mount, Manickam faces personal losses, including the betrayal of close allies and a smear campaign designed to tarnish his reputation. Despite these setbacks, he remains steadfast in his mission. His actions begin to inspire others in the community, who rally behind him to fight against injustice.
