New Delhi: As star-studded and big-budget films including Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan failed to bring audiences to theatres last month, a Telugu film did wonders at the box office earning more than double its overall budget.
The film made in just Rs 15 crores, garnered a few lakh rupees on its first day, but then gained momentum and its earnings reached crores later.
The Hindi dubbed version of the film did a lifetime business of around Rs 30 crore despite being released in a limited number of cinema halls in the Hindi belt. The Hindi version of the movie collected even more than the original Telugu version.
The success of this film indeed came as a surprise for everyone. Kartikeya 2 is now going to release on OTT. The film has earned more than 300 times its budget including the total collection.
About the film
Nikhil Siddhartha, Anupama Parameswaran and Anupam Kher starrer film is directed by Chandu Mondeti. The plot of the film revolves around the anklets of Lord Krishna, which are to be discovered under the pretext of a noble cause.
There are quite many references to Lord Krishna’s anklets and Uddhav in mythological Hindu texts. The film got tremendous love from the audience as approved by the official box office figures.
OTT Release
It is reported that after a stupendous success in theatres, Kartikeya 2 is now being released on OTT. Although it has not been officially announced yet, but according to the media reports, Kartikeya 2 will stream on the digital giant Zee5.
Though the platform is yet to announce the streaming date for the film, it is reportedly making its way on digital space from the first week of October.
