New Delhi: Joseph Kosinski directorial turned out to be the highest-grossing film of the ongoing year 2022 as the action-thriller collected nearly $1.4 billion on the global front.
Among the post-pandemic movies, ‘Top Gun Maverick’ became the second such project to touch the landmark after Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Interestingly, the film happens to be a sequel to the 1986 release ‘Top Gun’ starring Tom Cruise as the US airforce pilot Pete Maverick Mitchell.
The plot of the recent sequel begins 30 years after the events of the original movie which is remembered as a pure masterpiece by entertainment lovers.
For those who missed watching ‘Top Gun Maverick’ in the theatres for some reason, good news has occurred regarding the OTT release of the film in India.
The movie will be available on OTT from August 24 onwards. Viewers can rent the movie from digital giant Amazon Prime Video in three Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu apart from English.

In the freshly arrived sequel, Cruise is reprising his character of Captain Pete Mitchell, with Jennifer Connelly, Miles Teller, Jon Hamm, Lewis Pullman, Val Kilmer, Glen Powell, and Ed Harris, in pivotal roles.
For the unversed, apart from Top Gun: Maverick; The Batman, Minions: The Rise of Gru, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Jurassic World Dominion are the highest-grossing films on world box office in 2022.
