Storyline
The series takes place in 1960s South Korea and chronicles the struggles of a bromance between two guys during a difficult period in the country’s history.
The narrative follows two characters, Kim San—an exceptional warrior from the Korean Military Academy—and Park Doo Chil—also known as Uncle Samsik—who continues to eat three square meals a day despite the war. Kim San aspires to build a nation where every citizen lives comfortably.
Uncle Samsik, who shows great promise in a new teaser trailer, fights for his family’s welfare against all circumstances. Throughout the teaser, Uncle Samsik’s enigmatic persona captivates everyone in his vicinity, who can’t help but keep calling out to him.
Release Date and Platform
Uncle Samsik will be available to watch on Hulu and Disney Plus Hotstar and will have its debut on May 15, 2024.
There are a total of sixteen episodes available in the drama, with two new episodes dropping every Wednesday until June 19, 2024.

Song Kang Ho portrays Uncle Samsik/Park Doo Chil in the drama. His Oscar-winning picture Parasite catapulted the actor to stardom. The drama also features Byun Yo Han as Kim San, Lee Kyu Hyung as Kang Sung Min, Jin Ki Joo as Joo Yeo Jin, and Seo Hyun Woo as Jung Han Min in the leading roles.
