Plot
In Under The Bridge, we follow the story of 14-year-old Canadian-Punjabi girl Reena Virk as she goes to a party with her friends, and is brutally tortured, punched, and eventually drowned. After escaping from the gang at first, she was followed and assaulted again before being dragged to her death.
After 8 days of circulating rumours, the authorities finally sent out the helicopter and discovered her half-dressed corpse near the Gorge entrance, confirming the terrible reality. The tragic death of a girl who had been the victim of racial discrimination and bullying at the hands of her fellow female students garnered widespread media attention.
She had a difficult adolescent life at home, where she was harassed and tormented, and where she often smoked marijuana and spent time with her friends. Rebecca Godfrey, a journalist with no background in crime reporting, sheds more insight on the criminals’ objectives via her honest coverage of the incident, while the police can only scratch the surface.
When and Where to Watch?
On April 17, 2024, two episodes of Under the Bridge premiered on Hulu in the US. In Latin America, you can watch the series on Star+, while in other foreign countries, you can watch it on Disney+.
Now, the criminal series will also be available to Indian audiences on Disney Plus Hotstar beginning May 8, 2024.
