New Delhi: The trailer for Dhanush’s upcoming film ‘Vaathi’ was dropped on February 8. The film revolves around the struggles in the privatisation of education. Written and directed by Venky Atluri, the film also stars Samyuktha, Sai Kumar, Samuthirakani and others.

The trailer shows Dhanush as a student struggling against private education at the hands of powerful players. He falls for Meenakshi, played by Samyuktha, while her father is the one behind the privatisation of education. Dhanush embarks on a journey to provide education to the poor in his area while fighting a battle against the powerful.

While the film explores the social aspects of education in our country, Venky Atluri does not fail to impress fans with Dhanush’s iconic action sequences. The film is played as an action-drama giving a social message.

Dhanush plays the titular character of Vaathi, which means teacher or sir in Tamil. ‘Vaathi’ is a bilingual film in Tamil and Telugu and is set to attract audiences from two industries. The film will release on February 17.

The music in the film is composed by GV Prakash Kumar while the cinematography is done by J Yuvraj. Suryadevara Naga Vamsi’s Sithara Entertainment has co-produced the film along with Sai Soujanya’s Fortune Four Cinemas, while the film is presented under the banners of Srikara Studios.
