New Delhi: At his Mumbai home, famous actor and comedian Junior Mehmood died at 67 years of age. He had advanced stomach cancer and was receiving therapy.
The news was confirmed by the legendary actor’s close friend Salam Kazi, who revealed that his health deteriorated and he was placed on life support. Unfortunately, Kazi broke down in tears and announced that he couldn’t make it.
A family acquaintance has confirmed that after today’s afternoon prayers, his funeral rites would be conducted at the Santacruz burial cemetery.

His co-stars Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar granted his last wish of seeing him, and photos of the two of them meeting went viral.
Johnny Lever was there for him as word got out about his worsening health. The actor-comedian met with him and continued to see him daily to monitor his progress.

Following his encounter with Lever, Mehmood Junior spoke of his want to meet with Sachin Pilgaonkar and his old friend, Bollywood actor Jeetendra.

Jeetendra became very upset and broke down in tears as he saw his friend and co-star suffering. The actor spoke to Hindustan Times on his visit, “I am here by his bedside, but he is unable to recognize me. He is in so much pain, he is unable to open his eyes. To see him in this state breaks my heart. I have been coming to the Mount Mary Church for 25 years. When I learned of Junior’s health condition, I planned to visit him on my way to the church next Sunday. But Johnny reached out to me on Monday night, urging a quick visit,” he said.
