New Delhi: Sam Bahadur, a movie about the life of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and starring Vicky Kaushal, has wrapped production. The Meghna Gulzar directorial will have Vicky Kaushal as the main character of Sam Manekshaw. Sanya Malhotra plays Manekshaw’s wife Silloo, and Fatima Sana Shaikh plays the departed prime minister Indira Gandhi. Vicky Kaushal has now declared the movie’s completion, in addition to a note.
The Masaan actor confirmed the completion of the shoot on his Instagram feed on Tuesday. “Gratitude gratitude and just gratitude… to be a part of this process to show the life of a true icon, to be a part of this crew which truly gave it their best,” he wrote beside an unseen photo from the sets. So much to experience, so much to learn… so much to share with you all. Sam Bahadur is centered on Manekshaw’s experiences as one of History’s biggest combat heroes. Sam Manekshaw served in the Army for 4 decades and five conflicts. He became the very first general in the Indian Army to be designated to the rank of Field Marshal, and his military victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war led to the creation of Bangladesh.

The movie, Meghna and Vicky’s second collaboration following 2018’s “Raazi,” began production in August.
The script for “Sam Bahadur” was written by Bhavani Iyer, Meghna’s father Gulzar, and Shantanu Srivastava. Gulzar is also a lyricist in the film, which has music by the renowned combo Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
