New Delhi: In yet another heroic effort, the Indian Navy, on Tuesday, apprehended 11 Somali pirates after Intercepting a hijacked Iranian fishing vessel Al Naemi on Tuesday.
The seizing of hijacked Al Naemi took place after INS warship Sumitra confronted the fishing vessel around 800 miles off the coast of Kerela’s Kochi. After the successful interception, the Navy not only apprehended the pirates but also successfully rescued & freed the fishermen who were being held captive by them in the taken-over fishing vessel.
Following that, several pictures featuring then Navy officials standing with the apprehended hijackers & their gadgets started emerging on social media and within no time, a hilarious detail about the viral photographs ignited a meme fest on social media.
Somalian Pirate in RCB Jercy ignites meme fest
It all started when several users started pointing out the red & black Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB) Jersey worn by one of the Somali pirates apprehended by the Indian Navy. This sparked an internet war between the IPL franchise’s fans & netizens who took full advantage of this golden of to troll Virat Kohli’s red army.
Commenting on the same, one user wrote, “haaRCB fans se koi kam nhi hota” Another said, “Just another RCB fan” A third one added, “16 years of disappointment, made an RCB fan a pirate”

Indian Navy’s second successful rescue operation within 36 hours
Meanwhile, the successful rescue operation of Al Naimi by INS Sumitra was conducted less than 36 hours after the Indian Navy rescued 17 crew members by intercepting another hijacked Iranian-flagged fishing boat a few miles off the eastern coast of Somalia.
Speaking about the same, the spokesperson of Indian Navy Commander Vivek Madhwal stressed the Navy’s commitment to fighting against all kinds of nevel threats to ensure the safety of sailors & commercial vessels saying,” INS Sumitra, over less than 36 hours, through swift, persistent and relentless efforts has rescued two hijacked fishing vessels along with 36 crew (17 Iranian and 19 Pakistani) in Southern Arabian Sea approximately 850 nautical miles West of Kochi”
