Watch: Man attacks Thalapathy Vijay with slipper at Vijayakanth’s funeral, viral video surfaces

New Delhi: A random man, on Thursday,  attacked South Indian superstar ThalaPathy Vijay with a slipper at the funeral ceremony of late actor Vijayakanth.

The Leo actor, who arrived to give his tribute to the recently demised DMK chief Vijaykanth, was besieged by a sea of crazy fans and media persons before an unidentified man threw his slipper at him, leaving the actor concerned & confused. A video of the whole incident is now going viral on social media.

Thalapathy Vijay attacked with slipper

In the video, teary-eyed Vijay is seen going back to his jeep after paying final tribute to his idol Vijaykanth while being encircled by a pack of aggressive fans who are trying their best to touch the actor.

However, as soon as he inches closer to his vehicle, a slipper comes flying at him from a distance and almost hits him on the neck. Thankfully, Vijay’s security personnel managed to grab the slipper and toss it in the same direction from where it came.

Angry Fans React

Soon after Vijay’s video went viral on the internet, fans took to the comments section and slammed the inappropriate treatment the actor was subjected to. Speaking on the same one X user wrote, “This is complete stupidity. Another added, “Ajith fans also don’t like this.”

“Vijay is being restrained from paying homage to Vijaykanth properly. I can understand fans’ love but this is not the appropriate time, the price the celebrities have to pay”, penned a third person.

Captain Vijayakanth’s demise

For the unaware, Veteran Tamil actor & DMDK chief Vijaykanth passed away at the age of 71 on December 28th. He was earlier tested positive with COVID-19 and taken to the Miat Hospital in Chennai where he took his last breath at around 6:10 AM.
