New Delhi: Often, we come across unique tales that look quite surreal yet are unsettling to the core. However, this time, be ready to experience a completely different and horrifying narrative of a girl called Jennifer Pan who was engaged in plotting a house invasion to have her parents murdered.
In the feature-length documentary What Jennifer Did, filmmaker Jenny Popplewell delves into the frightening crime and its reason using video of police interrogations and interviews from those connected to the case. A documentary film based on the 2010 case of Jennifer Pan will soon be available on over-the-top services.

Who is Jennifer Pan?
The Canadian lady known as Jennifer Pan contracted a hitman in the neighbourhood where her parents lived and plotted to have them murdered.
Born to Vietnamese immigrants, the girl spent her childhood in affluent Canadian suburbs before relocating to her Canadian hometown. Despite her Canadian citizenship, she was of Vietnamese descent. She came from a family of ambitious professionals, and her parents wanted nothing less than the best for their daughter.
But Jennifer lived a double life and told her parents a fake story about how great she was at school.

Plot
The famous Jenny Popplewell-directed film delves into Jennifer’s secret life, which kept her on the straight and narrow until her parents found out about her romance with a drug dealer called Daniel Wong. Jennifer boasted about her impressive pharmaceutical profession and scholarship acceptance to a university in Toronto before her parents found out the truth.
Her parents disapproved of her connection with the drug lord once they found out about it, and shortly after that, Jennifer had a terrible idea to have her parents killed. To accomplish two goals at once—maintain her connection with Wong and get access to his large family fortune—she devised a scheme involving Wong and his colleagues in a house invasion.
She hurriedly dialled 911 after evading her captors in some way. It seemed like there were more mysteries as the police started their inquiry. The authorities started to suspect Jennifer when her statements did not line up with what they saw in her behaviour and the evidence. After she confessed and further facts came to light, she was finally arrested.
