New Delhi: Ajay Devgn’s magnum opus Drishyam 2 opened in theatres this Friday with a bang and saw theatres running with full-packed capacity. This comes on back of series of failures & flop films of the Hindi cinema that not just doomed the atmosphere as well as the earnings in multiplexes.

The movie had also registered strong advance bookings and the opening also saw streams of movie buffs thronging the multiplexes for watching the suspense thriller.

While the performance of leading star cast Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Sharan & Tabu is being applauded, reports of its OTT debut has started surfacing.

This platform bags rights for webcasting Dishyam 2

The movie is drawing huge turnout of visitors at the theatres and hence makes it apt for the makers to delay its OTT release for offsetting the losses and stopping the bloodbath that the industry saw recently. However, reports suggest that a major OTT platform has bagged the rights for the sequel of blockbuster movie.

Reports suggest that the satellite & digital rights of the movie has been bagged by Amazon Prime Videos and soon, it will decide on the date of its release on digital platforms.

Drishyam 2 OTT release date

The first part of movie gave a clean chit to Ajay Devgn and left the police department searching for answers. Now, people are curious to know – what will happen to Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn) as he cleverly deceived & duped the police department for saving his family.

Usually, the time gap between theatrical & OTT release for any flick is 6 weeks period. The makers of Drishyam 2 may not take risk of releasing it early on the streaming platform, as it is already drawing huge footfall in the cinemas. However, going by the standard time & schedule, the movie may be set for OTT release either in late December or early January.
