New Delhi: In a shocking incident, popular Bengali actor Saibal Bhattacharya reportedly attempted suicide at his residence in Kolkata and also shared a video of himself on Facebook. It is said that the actor attacked himself with a sharp weapon on Monday night. However, he has now been admitted to a hospital in the city, according to the new reports.
Why Saibal attempted suicide
As per the media reports, Saibal was depressed for a few months as he was not getting a job in the industry. He was also dissatisfied with his professional life. Due to the frustration, he took the extreme step.
”I was forced to take it into my own hands…For this, I thank my wife, mother-in-law,” the streaming of the video stopped before the actor could finish his talk.
Before being admitted to Calcutta National Medical College and hospital he was found injured at his house in south Kolkata.
Earlier in May, two Kolkata-based actors died by suicide — Pallavi Dey at her south Kolkata residence and Bidisha De Majumdar at her apartment in Kolkata.
Famous for his role in Bengali serial Prothoma Kadambini
It said to be that Saibal was very in the Bengali film industry for his role as father and uncle in many serials. He also composes screenplays and dialogues. He is best know for his role in the Bengali serial, Prothoma Kadambini.
