New Delhi: Miss World 2021 was announced today and the crown was worn by Karolina Bielawaska from Poland. The former 2019 winner Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica crowned Bielawaska as the 70th winner of the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Although India’s Manasa Varanasi couldn’t make it to the top, Indian-American Shree Saini from the United States became the First Runner Up. Olivia Yace from Côte d’Ivoire was the second runner-up.
The news was announced on the official Twitter account of Miss World. “Our newly crowned Miss World Karolina Bielawska from Poland with 1st Runner Up Shree Saini from United States 2nd Runner up Olivia Yace from Côte d’Ivoire,” they tweeted.

However, this year’s Miss World is catching eyeballs for Shree Saini, whose journey isn’t an inspiration to only one but a million across the world.
Who is Shree Saini?
In Miss World 2021, Shree Saini represented the United States of America. She was among one of the top 6 contestants and finally concluded in the position of first runner-up. During the event, she also acquired the title of the Beauty With A Purpose competition. Besides, she was the first Indian-American to win the Miss World 2021 crown.
The 26-year-old model hailed from Ludhiana in Punjab. She moved to the US at the age of 5 along with her family. Owing to rare heart disease, she had a permanent pacemaker implanted at the age of 12. Besides, a serious accident had left her with facial burns. However, all these hurdles did not come in the way of pursuing her talent.
“I hope my story of overcoming facial burns and heart defect, can encourage people to overcome their daily challenges,” she said in an Instagram post, just before the grand finale of the Miss World pageant.

Shree Saini has completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and works as a Business Manager at her father’s company.
As per Miss World Organisation, Shree dreams of becoming a United States Secretary of Education. She is also an ardent reader, passionate about musical theatre, and enjoys attending Stand-Up Comedy.
