New Delhi: The Tamil Film Industry went into a shock after the sad demise of veteran Tamil Actor Delhi Ganesh who died due to age-related ailments in Chennai. His son Maha Devan.

The news of his death was confirmed by his son on social media. Delhi Ganesh’s fans express their condolences and prayers in the internet after the news of his death broke.

Early Life of Delhi Ganesh

The veteran actor Delhi Ganesh was born on 1st August 1944. Before taking up acting in cinema, he used to work in theaters. He has acted in more than 400 films and was given the name Delhi Ganesh by K Balachander.

Delhi Ganesh got his first break in films from filmmaker K Balachander in the year 1976 with ‘Pattina Pravesam.’. The Tamil actor also served in the Indian Air Force from 1964 to 1974.

He later quit Air Force to purse his passion for acting. Some of his noted films are Nayakan, Michael Madhana Kama Rajan, Sindhu Bhairavi, Iruvar etc. His most popular performance was as a comedian or as a supporting actor.

However he played the main character in the film ‘Engamma Maharani’ in 1981. Apart from doing comedy and supporting roles, he also played villain in ‘Apoorva Sagodharagal’.

Apart from doing main cinema he also appeared in TV serials and short films. The entire social media is flooded with reactions, paying tributes to their favourite actor . Delhi Ganesh was also supportive towards Junior Tamil actors who used to come as beginners.
