Uttara Baokar: National Award-winning actress died at the age of 79 on Tuesday.

New Delhi: Uttara Baokar, one of the noted actor and theatre artist died at the age of 79 in Maharashtra’s Pune city following a prolonged illness. The news about his death was revealed by a  sources close to her family.

The noted actor was ailing from the past one year. Uttara Baokar died on Tuesday (April 11) at a hospital and her last rites were performed on Wednesday (12) morning.

Who was Uttara Baokar?

Uttara Baokar did her study in acting at the National School of Drama (NSD).

Uttara during her acting career, played various roles in different plays such as Padmavati in Mukyhamantri, Desdemona in Shakespeare’s Othello and several others.

Baokar’s role in Govind Nihlani’s movie Tamas brought her to the limelight. She was also seen in Sumitra Bhave’s feature films.
