YouTuber Gauravzone arrested for filming at night in ‘Nidhivan Raj’

Nidhivan Raj is a holy place where it is believed that Radha and Lord Krishna play ‘raas lila’ at night, hence no one is allowed to enter the temple at the time.

New Delhi: Delhi-based YouTuber Gaurav Sharma was arrested for allegedly shooting a video inside ‘Nidhivan Raj,’ a Krishna temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Vrindavan at night, a week ago, said the police official. Reportedly, shooting or photographing inside the temple is restricted during the night.

It is believed that Nidhivan Raj is a holy place where Radha and Lord Krishna play ‘raas lila’ during the night and no one is allowed to enter the temple during that time of the day.

Police reported that Gaurav Sharma who is the admin of a YouTube channel named Gauravzone was arrested from his Delhi residence.

“While Sharma has been sent to judicial custody, efforts to nab his associates are on,” said police official Martand Prakash Singh.

At the time of interrogation, Gaurav revealed that he shot the video inside the Nidhivan Raj on the night of November 6. He was accompanied by his cousin Prashant and friends Mohit and Abhishek, stated police.

After the complaint was raised by Rohit Goshwami, the priest of Nidhivan Raj, Gaurav was booked under the IPC Section 295A and IT Act Section 66. The complaint was registered in Vrindavan police station.

 

In May, Gaurav was arrested under animal cruelty charges as he made his dog fly using helium-filled balloons. The YouTuber was later released. Following the incident, he deleted the video and apologised for his actions.
