New Delhi: After premiering over several worldwide film festivals and getting excellent feedback, Kapil Sharma’s much-anticipated movie, Zwigato, was released in Indian theatres. While the movie’s first-day box office numbers were shocking, the Nandita Das-directed film appears to have grown by 44.19 percent.

Taran Adarsh, a movie critic and trade analyst, revealed that the movie’s second-day collection is Rs 62 lakh. He explained that this is due to the film’s first-day earnings, and that in order to reach a decent total on its first weekend, the film must have a remarkable turnaround/jump on day three. So far, the film has earned 43 lacs, and when the second-day earnings are added, Zwigato’s total earnings are Rs 1.05 crores. The movie, Nandita Das’ third directorial effort, was released in a limited run of 409 screens.

Kapil’s first major role since his movie “ Firangi is in Zwigato. Zwigato is set in Odisha and follows Manas (Kapil Sharma), who is struggling to make a living as a food delivery man after losing his job at a factory. Manas is the primary earner of a family of five, which consists his wife Pratima (played by Shahana Goswami), their two children, and his ill mother, who has moved from Jharkhand to Odisha in search of a higher living wage. The movie focuses on the working class’s social and economic problems.
