16-year-old boy killed, two injured as LED TV explodes in Ghaziabad home

The Police said that in the explosion, the concrete slabs and a portion of the wall collapsed, leading to panic among neighbours.

New Delhi: In an unfortunate incident, a 16-year-old teen died after an LED TV exploded in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad.

The victim was identified as Omendra. The incident took place while he was watching a show on the TV at the house. Omendra’s mother, sister-in-law and a friend were injured.

The Police said that in the explosion, the concrete slabs and a portion of the wall collapsed, leading to panic among neighbours.

According to the victim’s family, the teen’s neighbour said she heard a loud bang.

When the incident took place victim’s mother, sister-in-law and his friend, Karan, were in the room.

The injured were rushed to GTB hospital in Delhi for treatment where the doctors declared Omendra brought dead.

Omendra was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition where he died. Meanwhile, his mother and Karan are being treated.

A family member of Omendra said that she was in another  another room when the explosion happened.

Monica said, the explosion was so powerful, the entire house shook and parts of the wall collapsed.

Meanwhile, the police is investigating the incident.

An autopsy was conducted after completing legal formalities, he added.

 Ghaziabad police officer Gyanendra Singh said that the Initial investigation showed the LED TV mounted on the wall exploded.
