New Delhi: Delhi police held a press conference to give updates on the Kanjhawala death case. Special CP(L&O) opened up about the interrogation of the five accused arrested. Police arrested the five accused, who are on a 3-day remand as per the court’s order. He told that there were two more people involved in the case.
Special CP(L&O) Dr Sagar P Hooda said that the car was driven by Amit and not by Deepak. He added that there are two other accused in this case and the police are trying to arrest them. The two new accused tried to tamper with the evidence and gave misinformation to help the five accused. Police told that their names are Ashutosh and Ankush Khanna.
Police also said that no evidence of sexual assault was found during the post-mortem. Dr Sagar Hooda added that their team is conducting raids and have recorded the statement of the eyewitness Nidhi.
While there were speculations regarding Nidhi’s link to the case, but the police cleared that there is no link between the eye witness and the accused. Talking about the drunk state of the deceased, he said that they can tell this only after the post-mortem report, moreover, it is not relevant to this case. According to the Delhi police, the accused were aware of the human body under the car.

Dr Sagar Hooda said that they are trying to file a chargesheet as soon as possible. He added that an internal inquiry into the delay in the Police PCR response will be conducted and disciplinary actions will be taken if found guilty.
