3 years of Tripura govt: PM Modi addresses mega rally, showers praise on Biplab Deb governance

49-year-old Biplab Deb, the saffron party leader became the Chief Minister of Tripura on March 9, 2018, after BJP in alliance with tribal-based party IPFT, won the Assembly polls by toppling Left regime that ruled the state for 25 long years.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed a mega rally in Tripura on Tuesday, to mark the completion of 3 years of BJP government in the state.

PM Modi addressed the crowd digitally and also congratulated Biplab Deb-led Tripura government for completing 3 years in office.

“You have created history three years ago by ending the rule of a repressive regime of corruption and commission”, PM Modi said indirectly hitting out at the erstwhile CPI(M)-led Left front government.

While laying the foundation stone of multiple projects in Tripura, the Prime Minister pointed, “For the first time, the purchase of farm produce on MSP (minumum support price) has been ensured in Tripura. People working under MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) are now getting Rs 205 per day instead of Rs 135 per day.”

GDP grows 6 times in 3 yrs, PM Modi lauds Biplab govt

PM Modi showered praise on Biplab Deb government for initiating several people welfare schemes and quick implementation of Central schemes.

“Today, we compare the development of 3-year old BJP-IPFT government with 30 years of previous governments. Central govt had supported Tripura with only rs 3500 crore between 2009 but after 2014, this rose to Rs 12,000 crore and now it has become an example before many big states,” PM Modi said.

“Tripura, which was pushed back by the strike culture for many years, is now working for Ease of Doing Business. Where industries had come to the brink of closure, there is now space for new industries and investments,” PM Modi said.

He also highlighted that Tripura GDP has increased 6 times in last 3 years under the Biplab Deb-led state government.

Addressing the crowd, PM Modi listed out several achievements of Tripura govt and said that it will soon become a benchmark for others.

“In next 2 years, state would become an example of development before the country,” PM Modi added.
