Man arrested for raping 34 year old woman after she locks him in a room and called 112: Delhi Police

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chandan Choudhary, the PCR call in this matter was received at Mehrauli police station on Sunday.

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 34-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a local leader in south Delhi’s Mehrauli area, police said on Monday.

The accused has been identified as Harjeet Yadav, a resident of Khanpur. He has been arrested.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chandan Choudhary, the PCR call in this matter was received at Mehrauli police station on Sunday.

When police reached the spot, the victim who is said to be a airhostess said that Harjeet Yadav, whom she had known for the past one-and-a-half months, came to her house in an inebriated condition and raped her.

Arrested

He was arrested after the victim managed to lock the accused in a room and called 112.

Following the statement, a case has been registered against the accused under sections 376 (rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 377 (unnatural offences) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Rape

The DCP said that the accused has been arrested and has been sent to the judicial custody.
