AAP leader Amanatullah Khan arrested in connection with Delhi Wakf Board corruption case

Anti Corruption Bureau Delhi on Friday arrested Aam Adami Party leader Amanatullah Khan in connection with the Delhi Wakf Board corruption case. 

New Delhi: Anti Corruption Bureau Delhi on Friday arrested Aam Adami Party leader Amanatullah Khan in connection with the Delhi Wakf Board corruption case. The arrest was made after the recovery of incriminating material and evidence found against him during the searches conducted. It is reported Rs 24 lakh in cash and two weapons were recovered from the aides of the AAP leader by the ACB.

According to the reports, the Anti-Corruption Branch of Delhi conducted raids at several locations of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan and his business partner, Hamid Ali Khan Masood Usman on Friday. In another case, the police recovered Rs 12 lakh cash, live cartridges from the AAP associate of Amanatullah Khan, Kausar Imam Siddiqui.

Who is Amanatullah Khan?

Amanatullah Khan is an Indian Politician of the Delhi Legislative Assembly in the Aam Aadmi Party. He represents the Okhla Assembly constituency of Delhi. He is also of the Delhi Waqf Board since November 2020. He was born in Agwanpur village of Meerut district.

He joined the Jamia Millia Islamia but did not complete his degree. The 48-year-0ld leader was earlier associated with the Lok Janashakti Party, founded by Ram Vilas Paswan.

He is married to Shifia Khan and has two children — a son and a daughter.
