New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders including Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, MP Raghav Chadha, Atishi, Sanjay Singh and Saurabh Bharadwaj are protesting outside the CBI office along with the party workers. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was summoned for questioning in the liquor scam case and is inside the CBI office. AAP has been calling it a politically motivated action by the Centre.

The summoning of Delhi’s CM has become a matter of political discourse where AAP and BJP are targeting each other. When CM Kejriwal reached the CBI office along with his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann, he said that he will answer all the questions. Talking to the media, he also alleged that CBI is being controlled by BJP and wants to arrest him.

Before leaving his residence for questioning, Arvind Kejriwal gave a statement to the press saying that some ‘anti-national forces’ do not want the country to develop.

Before AAP leaders stage a protest outside the CBI office, party workers protested against CBI’s move and several of them were detained by Delhi Police at Kashmiri Gate.

CM Kejriwal has been summoned in the liquor policy scam case where it is alleged that the excise policy was drafted in a way that benefitted certain businessmen and interest groups and there is also the accusation of giving tender to favoured groups and money laundering. Delhi government later shifted to the old excise policy by stating that they did not get the desired results as expected.

Former AAP ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain are also in jail over alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation policy.
