AAP’s Rajendra Gautam, who mocked Hinduism becomes party star campaigner for MCD polls; BJP fumes

Rajendra Pal Gautam got mired in major controversy after he was accused of facilitating religious conversion of Hindus to Buddhism.

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday released the list of 30 star campaigners for upcoming Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) elections, however, it has also sparked uproar in political circles because of selection of former minister Rajendra Pal Gautam in the list.

Rajendra Pal Gautam has chosen among the 30 star campaigners who will traverse through the length & breadth of capital and will boast about AAP’s ‘good governance’ & seek people’s vote in name of Arvind Kejriwal.

Gautam’s selection in the star campaigner list drew strong criticism from BJP as the latter slammed the AAP for ‘promoting’ hatred towards Hindus.

Rajendra Pal Gautam got mired in major controversy after he was accused of facilitating religious conversion of Hindus to Buddhism. In the video that viral, he was seen on stage taking oath with about 10,000 people that none will worship Hindu lords & deities from now onwards.

The then AAP minister had to resign as minister as the controversy escalated and the party anticipated some damage in upcoming polls.

Meanwhile, the BJP has taken strong umbrage over his selection in AAP’s campaigners list. Firing fresh salvo, the saffron party said that the AAP wants to befool people, Hindus in particular and its slanted agenda will be ‘exposed’ before people.
