Adani Group to acquire 29.18% stake in NDTV; Twitter flooded with reactions, memes

In a major announcement, Adani group’s subsidiary AMG Media Network Limited said it would acquire a 29.18% stake in NDTV.

New Delhi: Soon after the news broke out on the internet that Adani group’s subsidiary will acquire a stake in New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV), the hashtag NDTV started trending at the top on Twitter. Under the hashtag, many people shared funny messages and memes. Within an hour of the news being confirmed, over 50 thousand people shared their reactions on the social media platform.

In a major announcement, Adani group’s subsidiary AMG Media Network Limited said it will acquire a 29.18% stake in NDTV. It also added to launch an open offer for another 26% stake in the media house. ”This acquisition is a significant milestone in the journey of AMNL’s goal to pave the path of new age media across platforms,” said Sanjay Pugalia, CEO, AMG Media Networks Limited.

In the market, the company stock registered a 5% jump today, trading at Rs 376.55. The media report suggests that Founder Prannoy Roy will be left with just 2.6% of the stake in the company.
