New Delhi: The newly launched Agnipath scheme for recruitment in the Indian armed forces has been on the list of top trending topics for past some days.

Amidst nationwide protests across various states, the scheme has also invited a vast public discourse regarding its potential benefits and harms.

Meanwhile, the frontline forces – Indian Army, Navy and Air Force are all set to commence the recruitment drive for the first batch of Agniveers under the central government’s Agnipath initiative.

Registration Dates:

The Information and Broadcasting ministry in its notification shared a timeline of registration dates for all three forces on Monday.

In its Tweet, I&B ministry wrote, “Agniveer aspirants, get ready! Notification dates for recruitments under the Agnipath scheme are here.”

The registration process for the Indian Army begins from June 20 onwards, while that of Navy and Air Force will initiate from June 21 and June 24 respectively.

Agniveer Batches for Year 2022-23: 

Addressing a joint press conference of the tri-services on Sunday, Air Marshal SK Jha told that the registration process for the recruitment in the armed forces is set to begin by the end of the ongoing month, while the phase-I online examination process would start from July 24 onwards.

Regarding IAF, he said, “The first batch would be enrolled by December and training would commence by December 30”.

Further, Navy Chief of Personnel, Vice Admiral Dinesh Tripathi informed, “From November 21 this year, the first naval ‘Agniveers’ will start reaching the training establishment INS Chilka, Odisha. Both female and male Agniveers are allowed for this.”
