Ahmad Murtaza, the man who tried to barge into Gorakhnath temple; injured 2 cops with sharp weapon
Murtaza is a chemical engineer by profession and he reportedly told the interrogators that he was disturbed due to family issues. He completed his chemical engineering from IIT Bombay. His father is also being questioned about son's mental state & alleged links with criminals.
New Delhi: Ahmad Murtaza Ansari, the man who tried to force his way into the Gorakhnath temple complex and in the process attacked two policemen with sharp weapon is currently being questioned by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of UP police.
The assailant, who came from Mumbai, was armed with sharp weapon and while he was scanned at the entrance gate by police personnel, he tried to snatch the weapons of deployed PAC staff there. But, he failed in that bid and suddenly took out a sharp weapon he reportedly carried with himself.
Ahmad Murtaza Ansari is a native of Gorakhpur and is said to be mentally unstable. He flashed the sharp weapon & dodged security personnel in the premises for almost 10-15 minutes before getting overpowered.
The assailant along with weapon was captured but what is concerning the officials is recovery of laptop from his custody. Not much is known yet but bigger plot or conspiracy angle can’t be ruled out, given the rising stature of Gorakhnath temple. His laptop is being scanned & investigated.

He lost his job recently and his wife has also left him. He reportedly told the probe team that he thought he would be shot down after such incident and this will end his pain & travails. His claims are difficult to believe for now, given the threat perception to Uttar Pradesh CM and cops are probing all angles.
