New Delhi: AltNews Co-founder Mohammad Zubair granted bail in 2018 tweet case by Delhi Court. But, he will stay in jail for two cases filed in Uttar Pradesh.

The Court granted bail to Zubair on a bond of Rs 50,000 with one surety and he is not allowed to leave country with court’s permission.

Zubair, has requested the Supreme Court to cancel six cases filed against him by the Uttar Pradesh Police.

Delhi Police had arrested Mohammed Zubair on June 27 over his 2018 tweet, where he had shared a screenshot from a popular Hindi movie.

He was arrested days after he flagged a video of suspended d BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s provocative comments on Prophet Mohammed during a TV debate.

Three cases were filed against him in Hathras , Lakhimpur Kheri and Sitapur over a tweet where he had called some right wing leaders as “hate mongers”.

A Sudarshan News employee had filed a case against him in Lakhimpur, where he had accused Zubair of misleading people about his channel’s coverage of the Israel-Palestine dispute.
