Amit Shah: Next census to be e-census for 100% accurate data

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said the government has planned to make the next census e-census for 100% accurate data.

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said the government has planned to make the next Census e-Census for 100% accurate data. He added that every birth and death will be registered which means our census will be updated automatically by 2024. He made the announcement while inaugurating a census office in Assam’s Amingoan.

The Home Minister also said only an accurate Census can tell about the lifestyle of people in mountains, cities, and villages.

”The census has an important role in policymaking. The only Census can tell what is the status of development SC & ST, and what kind of lifestyle people have in mountains, cities & villages,” said Shah in his speech.

According to Shah, modern techniques will be used to make the census more scientific and 100% perfect.

”Home Ministry has decided to add modern techniques to make the Census more scientific. The next Census will be an e-Census, a 100% perfect census,” added Amit Shah.

In the new census, the name of a new born child will be added to the Census register. After the child turn 18, he will become eligibale voter as his name will be included in the electoral data.

Authorities will deleted his data after his death. The new technique will also made name/address change will be more easy than the current process.

Amit Shah also said, ”The next e-Census will shape the policies of the next 25 years. I and my family will be the first to fill all deatils online in the software when it is launched.”
