New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today virtually inaugurated the Mata Sharda Devi temple near the Line of Control (LoC) in Karnah sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

During the inauguration, Amit Shah said that the abrogation of Article 370 is taking the Union Territory back to its old traditions, culture, and the “Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb”.

He said the opening of Mata Sharda Devi temple is the beginning of the new dawn and quest for reviving the Sharda culture.

Since Amit Shah was not physically present at the historic inauguration of the temple, he assured that he will visit the temple on his next tour to Jammu and Kashmir.

He said whenever he will visit Jammu and Kashmir, he will start his visit by bowing at the Mata Sharda Devi temple.

Amit Shah added that this was possible only by the blessings of Mata Sharda Devi and also by the joint efforts of the people including civil society on both sides of the Line of Control.

Amit Shah also congratulated Jammu and Kashmir’s Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for implementing all schemes of PM Modi on the ground in the UT.

Also, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti called the opening of Sharda Temple a “very good thing”. She said that this was something that Kashmiri Pandits were looking forward to really wanted it to open.
