
New Delhi: In a horrific incident, a man was hacked to death by three men for chewing tobacco on a street in Golden Temple’s vicinity in Amritsar last night.
The incident had taken place in a market area near Harmandir Sahib and the horrific murder has been captured in the CCTV which has been installed in the vicinity.
According to the sources, it is said that the individual was passing down the road when two Nihang Sikhs attacked him with their swords.
As per the victim’s family, the individual was crossing the road near Jallianwala Bagh when both men attacked him and fled from the crime scene. They said they allegedly stabbed the victim with a sword on his chest and left him bleeding in the market area for over a night.
CCTV footage showed the body of the victim remained on the street overnight until police arrived the next morning.

The victim has been identified as Harmanjeet Singh and the complaint about the incident was filed with Amritsar Police.
Earlier, in a press conference held by Commissioner of Police Arun Pal Singh, he informed that the incident occurred near Shri Harmandir Sahib, where a person was killed on behalf of two Nihang Sikhs.

The officer said that the victim was stopped from consuming substances by Nihang Sikh men but the matter did not stop there, instead tension escalated between them.
He also said, another person who joined the quarrel, Ramandeep Singh was held and arrested.
Others involved in this incident will also be nabbed, he said further.
