New Delhi: Police recovered a suicide note from v’s room a month after he allegedly died by suicide. He was a student of the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai. In the suicide note, he named his classmate as responsible for his death.
On February 12, 18 years old, Darshan Solanki allegedly jumped off the seventh floor of his hostel building.
At the time of his death, Police said that no suicide note was found.
Earlier, his family and some of the students had alleged that Darshan Solanki, a student of Bachelor of Technology was driven to suicide due to discrimination against Scheduled Castes students on the campus.
Now, almost a month later after the case was moved to a special investigation team (SIT) from the Police, they have said that they have found a “suicide note” from his room, which read, “Arman has killed me.”
Sources said that Arman Iqbal Khatri, named in the suicide note is a classmate of Solanki.
According to reports, the police have filed a case of abetment to suicide against Khatri.
After the death of Solanki, his family claimed that he faced caste discrimination at the institute.
Police said that they have also found WhatsApp chats between Solanki and the accused batchmate.
Darshan Solanki, hailed from Ahmedabad and was a first-year student in the Bachelors in Technology (Chemical) course at IIT-Bombay.
