New Delhi: Following Aryan Khan’s arrest regarding the Cordelia cruise drug case, a lot of controversies are going around the corner. The case is taking new turns with each passing day.

Nawab Malik, Nationalist Congress Party leader has raised questions on the intentions and authenticity of the case lodged by the Narcostics Control Bureau (NCB).

The NCP leader took to Twitter to share a video that shows Kiran P Gosavi and Manish Bhanushali entering and leaving the NCB office on the same night Cordelia cruise was raided and Aryan Khan along with others was arrested.

Reportedly, Kiran P Gosavi is identified as the man who took a selfie with Aryan Khan in custody and went viral all over social media. Following row broke out over selfie, the NCB had issued a statement that Kiran has no association with the anti-drug agency. On the other hand, Bhanushali was seen with Aryan’s friend Arbaaz Merchant. Nawab Malik reported that Bhanushali is a BJP leader.

Refuting the NCP leader’s claims, NCB asserted that what the agency did was nothing wrong and if he has any problem regarding the same, he can approach the court.

Nawab Malik again released a video raising questions on NCB official Sameer Wankhede. Maharashtra minister wrote, “Sameer Wankhede’s statement where he said 8 to 10 people have been arrested by the NCB, while 8 people were arrested. Why was he not sure about the number of arrests? Did they have an intention to frame 2 more people?”

While Nawab Malik raised questions about the investigation by the NCB in connection to the cruise ship drug case, the Maharashtra Congress has been demanding to seek action against the NCB officers for allegedly violating the rules and regulations stated in the NCB handbook.

“There are discrepancies in the statements given by the NCB officers related to the seizure of the drug and about the private persons present during the raids. The officers said that Manish Bhanushali was an independent witness while Bhanushali himself has stated that he was an informant in the case. The officers have not followed the law while handing over the custody of the accused to a private person. We demand an internal inquiry by DG, NCB to clear the air. Otherwise, there will be room to believe that the agency is working to implement political agenda to defame the Maharashtra government,” said Sachin Sawant, a Congress leader.
