Moreover, the BJD had won a whopping 44.71% vote share. But the concerning thing was there was a drop of 5 seats for the BJD in the state. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to emerge victorious on merely 23 seats and thereby formed the opposition. However, there was a slight increase in the seats of the BJP from the last elections (an increase of 13 seats). Apart from that, the Indian National Congress also competed for 138 seats. However, the Congress was routed badly and managed to win only 9 seats.
