At G20 Summit, US President Joe Biden walks up to PM Modi for a handshake, shares warm hug (VIDEO)

New Delhi: As India gets ready to take over the Presidency of G20 Summit next year, the optics emerging from the high-level meet is already setting the stage. A video has surfaced from the G20 Summit, displaying Biden-Modi bonhomie while the world leaders are heading to take their seat at meeting in Bali, Indonesia.

In moments that signify India’s rising diplomatic capital shows US President Joe Biden approaching the Indian Prime Minister for a handshake. The two later also share a warm hug.

In the video, the two world leaders can be seen engaged in conversation before taking up their respective seats.

In the video, Joe Biden also seems to be pleasantly elated over some comments by PM Modi. India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar & NSA Ajit Doval can also be seen in the footage.

PM Modi was also seen having a light moment with French President Emanuel Macron. The two leaders greeted each other with a smile before the G20 conclave.

The handshake & warm hug between Biden & PM Modi comes at a time when India has made it’s position clear on Russia-Ukraine conflict despite former’s persuasion to vote against Moscow in United Nations. India has repeatedly called for ceasefire and the need to end military hostility but continued to abstain from any voting in the UN.

Meanwhile, India is set to take over the president of G20 Summit from Dec 1, 2022. The G20 group of nations comprises of 20 economies but together they account for 85% of global GDP.
