Atal Setu: From Gutkha stains to parked car queues, videos showing public defacing India’s longest sea bridge goes viral, internet reacts

While some are lashing out at the people for littering on the bridge, others are requesting the government & authorities to impose hefty fines on the law violators

New Delhi: Not even a week has passed since the inauguration of the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (better known as Atal Setu) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and people have already started making a mockery of traffic rules, violating several laws while traveling through the sea faced bridge.

People deface Atal Setu by spitting Gutkha

Several footage and pictures are surfacing on social media, showing a number of Ghuthka stains on the bridge caused by individuals chewing gutkha & spitting it on the 6-lane elevated road openly.

Besides the Gutkha-stained pictures of Atal Setu, numerous clips featuring masses outrageously violating traffic rules by stopping their vehicles on the country’s longest seaside bridge are also doing rounds on the internet.

In the viral clips, one can clearly see a never-ending queue of private cars parked on the leftmost sides of the road with people posing in front of the seaside with their family, friends, and relatives.

The viral footage was shared on Twitter (Now X) by an account named ‘Roads of Mumbai’ which dropped it attached to a caption that read, “Money can buy cars, fuel, and toll fees. Money can’t buy common sense.”
