‘Attempt to spoil my image’: Haryana minister Sandeep Singh after FIR registered against him over sexual harassment

Sandeep Singh resigned from his post, and has also dismissed all the allegations against him.

New Delhi: An FIR has been registered against Haryana Sports Minister Sandeep Singh after a complaint by a female coach accusing him of sexual harassment.

PRO, Chandigarh Police said a case has been registered under sections 354, 354A, 354B, 342, and 506 IPC.

Following this Haryana Minister Sandeep Singh said this is an attempt to spoil his  image.

He said he hopes there will be a thorough investigation into the false allegations levelled against him.

He also said that he has handed over the responsibility of the Sports department to the CM until the report of the investigation comes out.

He  resigned from his post, and has also dismissed all the allegations against him.
Meanwhile, Senior Congress leader and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda also demanded
an impartial inquiry into the matter after the complaint.

According to the woman coach complaint, the Minister had first seen her at a gym and then contacted her on Instagram.

She said that the Minister messaged her on the Instagram saying that her national games certificate is pending and so he wanted to meet her in this regard.
