Speaking at a press conference, Baba Ramdev also asked for Brij Bhushan’s arrest for being alleged of sexually harassing women wrestlers, including a minor.

New Delhi: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev came in solidarity with wrestlers protesting against WFI chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Speaking at a press conference, Baba Ramdev also asked for Brij Bhushan’s arrest for being alleged of sexually harassing women wrestlers, including a minor. He also condemned the WFI chief’s statements about women.

Baba Ramdev said that it is shameful that the wrestlers have to sit at Jantar Mantar and protest against Brij Bhushan. Asking for the BJP MP’s arrest, he said that he should be behind bars and the ‘nonsense’ he is spewing for women is a misdeed and a sin.

He also added that he can only give a statement on the matter as he does not have the authority to arrest him.

Baba Ramdev, who is often seen supporting the ruling party BJP, came in support of protesters and stood against a BJP MP. The Yoga guru also attended the flagging of Vande Bharat Express in Uttarakhand along with various BJP leaders but took an individual stand on the issue of the wrestlers’ protest.

wrestlers candlelight protest

Baba Ramdev attended a free-of-cost yoga therapy and meditation camp where he addressed the press conference and raised his voice against the injustice with wrestlers.

The wrestlers have been protesting against Brij Bhushan Singh for more than a month and also took out a candle march at India Gate to mark one month of their protest at Jantar Mantar. Upon the directions of the Supreme Court, Delhi Police registered FIRs against Brij Bhushan and lent protection to the minor, but the wrestlers are demanding an arrest in the case. The wrestlers’ protest is being led by India’s ace grapplers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Mallik, and Bajrang Punia.
