Babita Phogat calls out Sakshi Malik ‘a puppet of Congress’ for stating, the fight was ‘not political’

The wrestlers who held a demonstration against the WFI chairman and demanded his arrest in Jantar Mantar met a barrage of criticism, with many accusing them of being politically motivated.

New Delhi: Wrestler Sakshi Malik and husband Satyawart Kadian shared a video disclosing “the truth” behind the protest the day before, and wrestler and BJP leader Babita Phogat slammed them as “a puppet in the hands of Congress.”

In the video, Malik emphasizes that their protest was directed at the wrongdoing of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chairman, not the government. “This (protest) was not supported by Congress…we remained silent for years because wrestlers were not united.” “These wrestlers came from poor families, and it takes a lot of courage to take on a powerful man,” Malik stated in the clip.

The wrestlers who held a demonstration against the WFI chairman and demanded his arrest in Jantar Mantar met a barrage of criticism, with many accusing them of being politically motivated.

“Two BJP leaders granted permission for our first protest at Jantar Mantar in January.” Tirath Rana and Babita Phogat wrote it. So how could Congress have planned our protest?” Kadian mentioned in the video. Malik showed a document requesting authorization to protest in the video.

However, Phogat replied to the video in her most recent tweet, saying, “I felt very sad and laughed too when I viewed the video of my younger sister and her husband, first and foremost I want to point out it clear that the authorization paper which younger sister displayed did not have my signature or my name anywhere on it.” There is no evidence of consent.”

Phogat also stated that she has always counselled them to have faith in the Prime Minister and the country’s justice system. “The truth will undoubtedly be revealed…”I told all the wrestlers repeatedly that if you meet the Honourable Prime Minister or the Home Minister, the solution will come from there,” she claimed.

Instead, they sought help from Congress’s Priyanka Gandhi, Deepender S. Hooda, and others who have been accused of rape and other crimes, she continued.

Phogat chastised the wrestlers for bringing the country low. “The people of the country are finally seeing the opposition’s faces…When this film of yours is shown to everyone, the people of the country will realise that…your protest on the opening day of the new Parliament, as well as the matter of immersing medals won for the country in the Ganges, was embarrassing to the country,” she remarked.

She also asked them to uncover the true purpose of the demonstration.
